My spouse H4 extension was filed in Jan 2011 and I was under impression that receipt is with lawyer. But recently I came to know that it should come to my address, as of today we have not got receipt no. I am still waiting for H1 approval decision and know H1 receipt no.
Is there way for us or our lawyer to get receipt no. for my spouse's H4 application?

I got my H1 approved in Oct 2004 and it was from Oct 2004 - Oct 2007. I used only 6 months of H1 and later went on TN (work visa for Canadian citizens) and remained in US working on TN for 4 years. I was in US all these years. Now even the earlier H1 approval duration is over, Can I apply for H1 with another employer using the old 2004 H1 quota cap or it has to be under new 2009 cap? Thanks in advance.

I have a question regarding AC21 portibility. I got my EAD in Oct 12th 2007. In the labor(used a pre-approved labor), the base pay mentioned is 48K and I was getting paid 55K from my current employer(A) who filed my green card.
I am getting another job in company (B) in the same field. The salary offer is better but is very high than mentioned in my labor. The new salary is around 85K.
1) Will the high salary will cause any issue with green card process if I take AC21 and use my EAD. Anyone had this kind of experience with the salary difference.
2) How do I know my new job is in the same or similar category as defined by USCIS.
3) Is AC21 is safe to take.

I am July 2 Filer and got the checks cashed on October 11. The USCIS mailed receipts on October 15 and I received them on October 18th.
Because of high speed winds, my mail box got opened ( unsecured on a single family home) and much of the mail got swept away. I scouted the neighbourhood and recovered all but one receipt notice.
One doubt nagging me is if I had lost any FP notice on that day.
What has been the general wait time to get FP notices from the day the checks were cashed / receipts receieved ? I know it depends on how busy the ASCs are, so particularly interested hearing from Chicago area.
Is there anything I can do from my side to know if I indeed got a FP notice?

USCIS has updated the H-1B cap count. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=138b6138f898d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=91919c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) As of December 8, CIS has received approximately 61,500 cases against the regular (non-Master's) H-1B cap of 65,000. However, since CIS sets aside up to 6,500 of this 65,000 for nationals of Chile and Singapore, it is possible that they will stop accepting other H-1B petitions soon, if not already. We are still filing new petitions, but with fingers crossed that they are not too late. If you need to file, please do so ASAP.

We used to be in immi.com and murthy.com venting out how broken the immi process is and IV rose to provide direction and the lobbying effort admists incessant anti immigration forces.A new effort that take Guts to do ..that too being voulnteers!
Being a IV core member is a tiresome, thankless job...but still they continue to plough thro rocks..with meager funds and bunch of negative members..
Feb 15 will come and Go....we still need to work on getting our provisions into CIR...whether it passes or not this year..we still need our provisions to get into it..one cannot miss the window of oppurtunity...
Work will continue...be it Feb 15 or Aug 15..

Hello Forum Members -
My company has applied for my 8th year extension (3 years) based on my LC and I-140 that was applied in CA. (My LC and I-140 have been approved). But during my 7th year, I moved to NC state with the same company/department. The LCA for the extension includes both CA nad NC work locations and NC residence address.
Will there be a problem with extending the H1 using the I-140 that has been approved for CA? Will USCIS question why I am in NC when the I-140 shows a CA Address?
Please let me know your opinion.

ICE has announced sentencing in two cases related to visa fraud. Houston immigration lawyer Kenneth Rothey has been sentenced to fourteen months in prison for money laundering and visa fraud. Rothey was convicted for his role in securing L-1 visas based on manufactured corporate relationships.
