I am on EAD and no H1B. I am looking for a house to buy. But wonder sometimes if I should wait till GC.
I have pending 485, used Bank of America for my home loan. No problems whatsoever. And, I know loads of people who have bought homes while on H1B or pending 140/485. I believe 2009-2011 will probably be the best time to buy a home. If you can afford it and if you have job security, then you must buy one (rent it if you dont want to live). The aprs available currently is unbelievable (of course, good credit history and the amount you put down will decide mainly).

When they can process 18K 485 in a day and 60K in a month, then these EADs and APs are miniscule for their efficiency. Ohh god, forgot to mention that too they worked on weekend. So they are ready for weekend work if required. So look at the below calc.
Yes, realistically, the estimated apps are 750K considering 500K primary and 250 dependents. This is can go up if the dependends increase. So assume a million in worst case scenario.
18K 485 a day = 50K EAD / AP a day.
Hence
50K EAD/AP in one day = 50K * 30 = 1500K in a month. So it would only 20 days to get your EAD / AP even if million people apply. Hmm let them not work on weekends now.

60K 485 in one month = 180K EAD / AP in one month
Hence
180K EAD / month = 5 months
Above is worst case scenario with 1million apps. So dont worry, you should be getting your EAD faster now than before.

Born in China, you can't get a Visa, even if you have a job not fillable by an US guy. And same thing if you are spouse,child you need to wait for years.
Can we estimate what kind of relief would be given in these cases?
Openheim: 225K recaptured GC family and Employment. Would provide some relief, not a lot!. As for family, about 50GC would go the husband and wife. it would be a first step.
Lowsy job and recapturing wouldn't help a lot! needs to explore other possibilities...

I emailed them not as me but as my employer( point of contact mentioned in the labor petition) and it works they send me a copy of the labor approval to my house along with a copy to my employer and one to my attroney. It really works.

my labor was MS + 2 years. Attorney did not file my I140 under EB2 because I have 23 months full time experience and 2 years GA experience.

This is a hot button issue in both agencies. Focus on quality of life issues and other losses incurred. Do not play with security. Its going to come back and hurt us. Does PD exist just to be able to file I-485? Or as some members say, does it also play a role after filing I-485 for adjudication? Does CIS go by PD or RD when the visas are limited?
Let's say A has PD(Priority date) Dec 2004 and RD(Receipt Date) Jul 25 2007, and B has PD Mar 2007 and RD Jul 2 2007. Who would be adjudicated first?

You are right, Ramesh, sadly people have time to check for Bill updates and get their spirits down with amendment removal news but no time to get more friends to join or contribute. Begining April we should see significant movement and EB2 should see many approvals.:D I am not vdlRAO but I expect my approval by Aug/Sept this year-:D:D:D-: a wishful thinking. Say: Amen !!!

this is a 2004 EB3 approval! This is the first one I am seeing from 2004. So looks like they have really cleaned the pipes here, and things should be better going forward.
The nicest thing of this whole fiasco is that they seem to have ignored country-limits and approved as many as possible. Last year they did only 9.8K EB Indians (teh final count was 17k, but that was due to ScheduleA). THis year (2007) if they have gotten 20-30K India applications out, the dates should move better in the future.
Eagerly awaiting 2 USCIS stats:
1. per-country per-category EB approvals in 2007
2. number of 485 applications received by August 17th
Per country quota is not applicable based on AC21 rule when it is current for every one. This is what happened due to the July visa bulletin fiasco. As they are honouring that bulletin, they are also forced to approve across all country
